MD Start is not another fund and is not another incubator: MD Start is the entrepreneur as well as the incubator and the investor. From its proprietary deal flow originating from physician and researcher inventors, MD Start creates, develops and operates the projects, turning them into new companies with both strategic and hands-on approaches, in order to bring them to investment stage and commercial development.

Our previous fund, MD Start III, is managed by Sofinnova Partners and has built 6 new companies.

Our latest fund, MD Start IV was closed at €82 million. The fund, which was oversubscribed, will help expand Sofinnova's medtech company-creation strategy across Europe and the US with greater capacity to launch new ventures and support them through key stages of development.
